  1. Bison birth control experiment ignites controversy A government plan to kill about 50 bison in Yellowstone National Park to test a new pesticide met a wave of protests. They claim this experiment will stop the spread of a certain disease.  (Reuters)
  2. Polar bear ice sculpture aims to raise awareness about climate change In Sydney, an ice sculpture of a polar bear measuring 13 feet high was displayed to shed light on global warming. In about three to four days, the ice will melt revealing a bronze skeleton underneath. “When the ice goes from the ice bear, there will always be a bear, but it will be very different bear. It will be a skeleton, a pool of water, and a powerful message,” said the sculpture’s artist. This one’s for you, Knut!
  3. Baseball games aren’t the only places to see ‘The Wave’A recent report about emperor penguins found that they huddle together and shimmy in unison to stay warm. That might be the most adorable thing I’ve had the pleasure to write all day. (Discovery News)
