Peggy Sue and I were attacked by a goose on our run this morning. We thought our lives were over.

We were running along the water, happy as can be because it’s finally warm in Boston and because we LOVE running. (We may have been singing a song, too but that’s neither here nor there).  All of a sudden, out of no where, a GOOSE STARTED CHASING US. Wings spread, hissing like crazy. It just kept coming at us until it was literally less than a foot away — and it was PISSED.

Now it’s normal to see geese on this path, and while they usually  hiss when you pass by, I’ve never seen them run after anything.  Because they’re geese. Normal geese do not chase humans and animals.

Clearly, though, this was not a normal goose.

So we did what any sane person and dog would do: we cowered and screamed.

You may think we overreacted but that’s probably because you’ve never been chased by a goose. Because if you have, then you know how frightening it is. I mean it’s a freakin goose. What did you expect us to do?

After what seemed like hours of terror, we escaped this demonic bird by jumping off the path and running behind — and then around — a bunch of trees and bushes. It wasn’t pretty as I’m quite sure I was screaming the entire time. But I didn’t care. I just wanted to get us out of there.

So — how’d you start your morning?

OMG – I definitely would’ve reacted the same way!
