Here are some fascinating articles that the humans (and animals ) at Current Instincts are reading today. Did we miss something major? Let us know below or send us an email.

1. Ten animal courtship rituals a guy could learn from. Male animals really know how to woe the ladies. Peacocks dress well, sea dragons dance like there’s no tomorrow, and kolas sing love songs. Yup — these fellas know all the right moves. (Treehugger)

DON'T SEE ME!

DON'T SEE ME!

2. Monkey see, monkey do. When a male mandrill at the Colchester Zoo in England doesn’t want to be disturbed by other monkeys, he puts his hand over his eyes — a gesture he learned from a female counterpart. And for some odd reason, it works. (LifeScience)

3. How snakes lost their legs. Yes — snakes used to have legs. But these legs became useless so Mother Nature said the hell with them. That’s the story in a nutshell. (Discovery News)

4. Prairie dogs kiss and cuddle for an audience. When prairie dogs know they’re being watched, the really turn on the charm. Sound familiar? “In many situations, prairie dogs react to being watched in exactly the same way we would expect humans to react,” Adam Eltora told BBC News. Guess there’s PDA everywhere. (BBC News)

5. Gorilla stud stars in sexy animal exhibit. Want to see sexy animals? Then visit the Museum of Natural History in London. The museum just opened an exhibit called Sexual Nature all about animal sex and it features studs like Guy the super dominant gorilla as well as sex toys made by female orangutans. Oh the Brits!
